The Flyer was a project created in 2013 for the exhibition 5 Absolute Senses at Art Yourself Gallery during Noaptea Albă a Galeriilor. It was also my first artistic collaboration with Liviu Coman.
The exhibition explored the five human senses through an immersive installation. Together, we built a two-meter black cube where visitors were invited to enter and lie down on a mattress placed on the floor. Inside the space, they could see my painting The Swimming Flyer, hear music composed by Liviu Coman, smell a specially created fragrance, and taste pumpkin seed sprouts growing on a shelf nearby.
The box could hold a maximum of two people at a time. Everything happening inside was recorded and projected live onto a wall outside the installation, allowing visitors to experience both their own reactions and those of others.
